Smashing Windows!3. X-Files

March the 24th sees Apple Computer™ finally release their next generation operating system, Mac OSX (pronounced Mac OS 10). Mac OSX uses 'Quartz', a new graphics technology that allows a level of interaction and user feedback never before seen within an operating system. With such killer features as integrated voice recognition, Bilinear Graphics Scaling, 100% Java 2 compliance, Symmetric Multiprocessing, and industrial strength UNIX underpinnings, Apple promises to leap frog the competition. At Imagine HQ, the rivalry between PC and Mac supporters is stronger than ever. Visit www.apple.com/macosx and prepare yourself for a shock.

4. Key Stats

T-commerce (television e-commerce) is the new buzzword in the electronic marketplace. It is the product of Interactive Television (or Digital TV) for which the UK is a pioneer. Rupert Murdochs 'Sky' has achieved 5 million subscribers and OnDigital has just over 1 million. Worldwide there are over 63 million digital TV connections, climbing to an estimated 350 million in 2006. The majority, over 225 million, will be using interactive services. While technological functionality remains low (compared to the Internet), it is worth retailers and entrepreneurs keeping an eye out for opportunities.

5. Innovations

Emblaze Emblaze, an Israeli technology company, is developing a range of Internet and multimedia products designed for distribution over low bandwidth modems without the need for plugins. Its video streaming software allows high quality video to be displayed over PCs, PDAs, TVs and the new era of video mobile phones. The company has alliances with news providers such as ITN and mobile manufacturers including Ericsson. Get ready for a more entertaining Internet experience wherever you are! See www.emblaze.com

6. Useful Sites - finding people

192 is the best online resource we have found for tracking down email addresses of people in the UK. For the private detective, more detailed searches are available but be prepared to pay. See www.192.com

Yahoo People search is a great resource if your are looking for someone's email address (US bias)

Or try the popular Bigfoot UK People search.

Search the Companies House database to find company names, addresses, chargeable documents, reports and disqualified directors.

Mac users can search for an email address using Sherlock. Just open up Sherlock and click the 'People' button at the top of the window, then type the persons full name and press enter.

7. Website of the MonthMark

In case you wondered how your licence fee is spent when Saturday night BBC television consists of Jim Davidson specials and Hi De Hi repeats, look no further than Radio1 DJ's Mark and Lards mini site. The site is a great example of interactive design coupled with interesting content. You can listen to the station through the site, view a webcam of the studio or download a selection of audio snippets and other treats.
